The Executive Governor of Katsina State, Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, has confirmed his attendance at the 2nd edition of the Nigeria-France Sports Awards and Gala. The event, set for October 21, 2024, will take place in Paris, France, and will recognize outstanding achievements in the world of sports. Governor Radda conveyed his decision to attend the event earlier this morning to the convener of the awards.
Strengthening Nigeria-France Sporting Ties
The Nigeria-France Sports Awards and Gala is an initiative designed not only to celebrate individual and team excellence in sports but also to strengthen the sporting relationship between Nigeria and France. By honoring athletes who have excelled in their fields, the event hopes to inspire future generations of Nigerian athletes to strive for greatness.
More than just a celebration, the gala is an important platform for fostering collaboration and mutual recognition between the two nations, particularly in sports.
Excitement from the Convener, Babatunde Ojora
Babatunde Ojora, the founder of OJB Sport and the convener of the Nigeria-France Sports Awards and Gala, expressed his excitement about Governor Radda’s participation in the event.
“Nigeria and France have witnessed significant sporting achievements in the past year, and these feats must be celebrated,” Ojora said. He emphasized that the event would highlight not only the achievements of individual athletes but also the growing importance of sports diplomacy between the two countries.
Governor Radda’s Recent Achievements in Katsina State
Governor Radda’s commitment to excellence goes beyond sports. Recently, he joined forces with Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State, northern Nigeria to commission several new education facilities. These efforts underscore his dedication to improving education in the region.
In addition, Governor Radda also held an award ceremony at the Katsina State Government House, where 14 outstanding employees from the state and local government councils were honored. Four high-performing officials received brand-new luxury vehicles, while 10 others were awarded N2 million each. This recognition spanned all levels of government, demonstrating the administration’s focus on rewarding merit and hard work.
Gala on the Seine River
The Nigeria-France Sports Awards and Gala will take place aboard the Louisiana Belle, a luxury boat cruising along the iconic Seine River in Paris. The glamorous setting is expected to make the event a highlight of the year, offering attendees an unforgettable experience while celebrating sporting excellence and fostering international cooperation.
