Paris FC Shot-Stopper Earns Prestigious Honor at 2024 CAF Awards
Chiamaka Nnadozie, the star goalkeeper for the Super Falcons of Nigeria and Paris FC, has been named the 2024 CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year. This marks the second year in a row that the 24-year-old shot-stopper has received the prestigious honor, solidifying her reputation as one of the continent’s best.
A Stellar Year for Nnadozie
Nnadozie’s exceptional performances both at the club and international levels earned her the top spot in the women’s category of the CAF Awards. She was shortlisted alongside Khadija Er-Rmichi of Morocco (AS FAR) and Andile Dlamini of South Africa (Mamelodi Sundowns), but it was Nnadozie who ultimately emerged victorious after a standout season with Paris FC. Her acrobatic saves and leadership between the posts have been key to the French side’s success, and her contributions on the international stage with the Super Falcons have further elevated her profile.
Back-to-Back Success for the Super Falcons’ Star
Nnadozie’s triumph at the 2024 CAF Awards follows her impressive achievement last year, when she was also crowned the best goalkeeper in African women’s football. Her continued dominance in goal has made her a crucial player for both her club and the Nigerian national team. Nnadozie represented Nigeria at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and will play a vital role in the Super Falcons’ quest to qualify for the 2026 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Nnadozie Expresses Gratitude at the Ceremony
Speaking after receiving her award, Nnadozie expressed her heartfelt gratitude to those who have supported her throughout her journey.

“Last year I was here and I am here again today, and I am grateful to God,” she said. “I want to say a big thank you to the CAF President and Nigerian Football President for the work done for women’s football.”
She also acknowledged the support of her club, Paris FC, for their investment in her development as a player. “Thank you to my club who have invested a lot in me. Also, to my coaches and teammates who all made this happen. Of course, to my family and friends who have supported me from day one,” Nnadozie added.
A Promising Future Ahead
Nnadozie’s continued success is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and growth as one of Africa’s top goalkeepers. With her sights set on further glory with both Paris FC and the Super Falcons, Nnadozie remains a key figure in the development of women’s football in Africa.
