At the launch of Luft PayTV in Abuja, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Tajudeen Abbas, underscored the pivotal role of media and entertainment in Nigeria’s economic growth, emphasizing their power to attract investment, develop local talent, and strengthen the nation’s global presence.
Represented by Mr. Joshua Audu Gana, the Speaker spoke to the significance of innovation in media and digital content in today’s global economy, calling it essential for fostering economic resilience and cultural influence.
Luft PayTV’s Role in Elevating Nigeria’s Digital Economy
The Speaker commended the launch of Luft PayTV, describing it as a platform with transformative potential for Nigeria’s digital and cultural presence on the world stage. According to him, Luft PayTV will help amplify Nigerian stories, values, and voices globally, bridging local content to international audiences. “By investing in local talent, producing indigenous content, and leveraging cutting-edge technology, Luft PayTV is set to contribute significantly to national revenue while empowering our creative industries,” he said.
Mr. Abbas pointed out that the House of Representatives, particularly the 10th Assembly, supports initiatives like Luft PayTV that emphasize local content creation and foster healthy competition within the TV service market. He noted that these efforts align with the Assembly’s focus on generating sustainable economic opportunities for all Nigerians.
